Launch Lab Elite Track & Field

  • The Launch Lab Elite Track & Field Club is not like your traditional Track & Field club.

    • We are operate on a athlete-centered culture. This means that everything is based on your availability and determination.

    • We are a year-round program with our season beginning in September, and ending in August

    • We do not have scheduled team practices, we have group sessions and travel to compete.

  • Due to our athletes being located all across the State of Virginia, we are unable to hold team practices in a one central location.

    Instead, our coaches will travel to you and hold smaller group practices for you and other Launch Lab members in your area!

Xavier O’Brien

Sprints/Jumps/Hurdles

As a former collegiate athlete at Roanoke College, Xavier ran the 60mH, 200, 400mH, 4x100m and 4x400m. From 2017-2022, he achieved many accolades including:

  • 2x Old Dominion Athletic Conference Champion

  • 2x First-Team All-Conference

  • Second-Team All-Conference

  • 2x Third-Team All-Conference

  • Roanoke College 60mH record (2021-2026)

  • 2022 DIII NCAA Championship 60mH Qualifer

Currently, Coach Zay coaches Sprints, Jumps, & Hurdles at Auburn High School. Since 2023, he has coached 5 VHSL Class 1 State Championship teams, 12 Class 1 State Champions, and coach the best jumpers in the State of Virginia.

Kobi Bonds

As a former Auburn Eagle, Kobi made himself known across the nation! During his senior season, Kobi finished in the Top 5 of Virginia for Shot Put. He also achieved multiple accolades like:

  • 2x VA Showcase Shot Put Champion

  • 3x VHSL Class 1 Shot Put State Champion

  • VHSL Class 1 Indoor Shot Put State Record Holder

  • 2026 Nike All-American Shot Putter

  • 2026 Dogwood Classic Shot Put Champion

In Fall 2026, Kobi will continue his athletic career at Virginia Tech University. As a Division I Athlete, he i will bring elite-level training methods and high-intensity energy to our program that will spread outside of just the Thrower Squad.
